Overview

Africa Delivery Hub consultants are dedicated to changing the way African governments deliver solutions to some of the continent's most pressing challenges. We are looking to add ADH consultants in our Johannesburg and Nairobi offices.*

Detailed Description

Successful candidates will achieve significant impact by applying their knowledge of international development topics to advise clients directly, or provide expert backup and support to client teams, delivering support over a longer period of time. Specific contributions will vary depending on your skills and experience, but could include:

Client engagement work:
  • Work exclusively with governments and donors on the most transformational challenges in economic development - focusing on one study at a time
  • Live and work where the impact happens, on the ground in some of the most dynamic developing African countries
  • Work with senior leaders in civil service to build government capabilities, oversee transformation, and deliver policy solutions over time

Client development:
  • Participate in client development for both current and new clients – at meetings or workshops, on topics of interest
  • Write proposals for new client engagements

Knowledge building and knowledge transfer:
  • Become an expert in the field of economic development and policy
  • Participate in or lead internal knowledge-building initiatives
  • Contribute to and participate in industry conferences and workshops

Desired Skills

Looking for individuals with 6+ years of experience in a development-consulting style position or experience working in a public or social sector institution. Backgrounds in power, health, agriculture and education are most desirable with a strong focus on people with experience working in Africa. At least 1 year as a manager, responsible for at least 5-10 people, required.

Applicants should demonstrate sound reasoning and critical thinking skills, outstanding academic achievement, impressive career development and a passion for working on the economic development of Africa. 4 year degree (or equivalent) required. Doctoral and advanced degree candidates in public health, development, economics and related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
