POSITION: PROGRAM OFFICER
09.10.2014 // The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Dar es Salaam is hereby advertising a vacant position as Program Officer. We are looking for a person with good understanding of the general political, economic and cultural context in Tanzania. Deadline for applications: Friday October 24th 2014. 

We are looking for a flexible and "all round" Program Officer who has a good understanding of the general political, economic and cultural context in Tanzania and who is able to contribute to the Embassy's work on assessment and analysis. Furthermore, the program Officer will be directly involved in practical project administration and monitoring, and should therefore have interest and skills in project management.

Main tasks:
•    Prepare and follow up development programs and projects. Includes financial reporting and results reporting
•    Assist in monitoring and analyzing trends in political, economic and social development
•    Network with relevant institutions in both Norway and Tanzania
•    Other duties and tasks as may be deemed necessary
Requirements
•    Masters Degree preferably in political science, economics or business administration
•    A minimum of five years working experience preferably from an international working environment 
•    Good ICT skills. Experience or interest in applying electronic project management systems is critical
•    Fluency in English and Kiswahili. 
•    Good networking skills and a comprehensive understanding of the relevant government institutions, civil society, private sector and academic stakeholders in Tanzania
•    Open, positive, efficient and flexible.
•    Able to take initiatives, work efficiently and manage own workload.
•    Positive to new challenges and willing to adapt to new systems and demands.
•    Good interpersonal skills across cultural diversities and ability to work constructively with other colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
