ACCOUNTANT


ACCOUNTANT Usevya Development Society (UDESO) was registered in Tanzania under the Non Governmental Act of 2002 on 2005 with registration number 00NGO/0963, its area of operation is national wide. Its head office is at Usevya village in Mlele district, Katavi region.UDESO is implementing a Pamoja Tuwale project in Mlele district. The project aims to promote MVC/OVC wellbeing through capacity bulding, community mobilization, lobying and advocacy. We are looking for motivated Accountant for Pamoja Tuwalee project.

Direct entry Qualification

Diploma/Bachelor degree  in Accounting, finance, business administration or any other related field
Must gain experience in working as an accountant for at least 2 years
Must have sober habits
Self motivated with demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleague in a team
Must be fluent in oral and written Kiswahili and English
Working with international donors NGOs will be added an advantage
Experience in quick book will be added an advantage
Skills and work experience
Proficient  in computer system and micro office suites
High level of integrity and ability to work as part of professional team
Ability to self manage, achieve results and meet deadlines
Willgness to work beyond the call of duty


Duties and responsibilities
Recording and reconciliation of project recoveries and income recognition
Establish and implement financial procedures in line with organizational requirements
Timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in line with organizational and donor requirements and deadlines.
Establish and prepare accurate and timely information for budget monitoring and progress reporting of programme funds and grants
Provide financial management advice on revisions of budgets, preparing periodical forecasts and any changes needed
Providing information to other department for budgetary purposes
Monitoring of the petty cash and bank balances to ensure sufficient funds are always available depending on the programme needs
Management and reconciliation of the bank and cash accounts, preparation of the weekly cash counts and monthly financial records including cashbooks, ensuring financial and resource accountability and effective management for records as required for auditing.
Disbursement of cash advances and reconciliation to ensure recovery.
Control of salary payments to staff, including NSSF, PAYE, reconciling the same and monitoring field expenses, subsistence allowances, mobile asset usage, etc.
Collection and filing of regular financial reports and budget records.
Represent the budgets and finances to relevant stakeholders when requested.
The Employee also agrees to carry out such additional or other duties as may be required by the Employer from time to time. The Employee shall faithfully perform the duties stated above
Identify, establish and manage an effective working office for programme ensuring effective security(office security, guarding)
Undertake any  other  related duties assigned by Executive Director
