Location: Tanzania
Reports to: Research Officer
Contract duration: 6 months (with possible extension) – anticipated to start September 2014
Salary: Competitive within Tanzanian NGO market rates

Job purpose:
This is a position for a new graduate who can work across our portfolio of projects in Tanzania as well as providing support to the research and project unit.
 Main Duties:
• Support the project team in planning, coordinating, delivering and reporting on training activities with the media and development-sector;
• Support the project team in planning, coordinating, delivering and reporting on radio production outputs;
• Maintain regular communication with all project partners, and be the main point-of-contact for partner reporting;
• Lead on development of content for the project's page on the BBC Media Action website (gathering and writing stories of impact, sourcing photographs, editing blogs, etc);
• Ensure that the project work-plan is up-to-date;
• Liaise closely with the production team, research team, finance team, and administration team to ensure compliance with all internal policies, and with project contracts;
• Undertake administrative tasks as assigned by the Project Manager or Project Assistant.
Required skills, knowledge and experience:
• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (3 years' experience in a relevant role within the media, training, or development sectors, may be considered in lieu of an Undergraduate degree);
• Fluency in English and Swahili (spoken and written) is essential;
• Ability to prioritise, and to manage several tasks simultaneously;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly establish effective working relationships with colleagues and partners in Tanzania, and internationally;
• Confident to highlight potential problems, and to provide suggested solutions;
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
• Experience of using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook is desirable;
• Any other duties that may be required.
