The Zanzibar AIDS Commission (ZAC) is a Government Institution mandated with the responsibility of managing and coordinating the national multi-sectoral response to HIV and AIDS in Zanzibar. In seeking to improve its services at ZAC headquarter, and Pemba office, ZAC invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the vacant post.
Planning Officer ZAC Headquarter
Permanent and pensionable - employment depending on the satisfactory performance during completion of nine months of probation period.
To assist the Head of Division on Planning and formulating policies for legislation procedureensure.
Job purpose
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES
•. 1) Formulate policies proposal for legislation procedures, Conduct situation analysis and consultation
for improving the legal environment for HIV and AIDS intervention.
2) Coordination and distribution of guideline for sector plan and intervention, conduct meetings/session with stakeholder.
3) Review HIV and AIDS action plan from the stakeholder and update action plans. To advise the Executive Director on matters of appointments, Confirmation, promotions, discipline and development of staff.
4) Develop multi-sectoral action plans. Contact all stakeholder and player and ensure that the mult-sectoral action IS in place.
5) Coordinate all programs related to community response to HIV and AIDS by assisting them in the process of planning, developing, implementing and reviewing to synchronize or link with National strategic plan and policy.
6) Assist public institution, civil societies, and private sectors by supervising them, providing a technical aSsistance and build their capacities in general and to mainstream HIV and AIDS in their daily activities.
7) Coordinate and supervise National response by facilitating the establishment of organized and functional HIV and AIDS committee at districts, shehia, private sector, public sector I> ensure that all HIV activities are coordinated at any level.
8) To perform any other duties assigning to him or her from time to time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCES AND ATIRIBUTES.
1) Holder of Bachelor Degree in Planning, management and administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
2.) At least a three (3) years works experience in planning.
3.) A good team work player with ability to work in dependently and be committed to deliver high quality work at the agreed time frame.
4.) Good interpersonal communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
5.) Computer literate with special skills in Ms Word, Excel and spread sheet application.
