Position: Banking Officer – Call Centre

Reporting to: Manager – Call Centre
Location: Dar Es Salaam
PURPOSE OF JOB
To serve EXIM customers, by determining their needs, answering their queries and resolving their problems
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Handling all customer queries by providing prompt, accurate courteous service
· Service recovery - turn a complaint/unhappy customer into a loyal satisfied customer with professional and empathetic service recovery
· Declaration of complaints
· Logging of service statistics, complaints, inquiries
· Analyzing and close looping of all customers issues (new and existing ones) and establish root cause, present to relevant department or branches
· Ensuring departmental objectives and targets are met example by answering calls
· Ensure requests or investigations are completed appropriately and faxed out to other channels/departments
· Ensure superb follow-up and fulfill promises made to our customers
· Ensure compliance with Banking Policy and Standards, local laws and regulations and
Controls and procedures of the Bank
2. COMPETENCY REQUIRED:
· Work as a team to assist the Bank as well as clients, in managing customer queries regarding our products and services
· Trail and document customer contacts in customer association management applications and systems in and verify information by phone, using professional and considerate phone techniques
· Ability to manage a modern, technology-oriented product and afford customers with the knowledge required on applications
· Capability to quickly and efficiently use client specific computer systems and databases to review accounts and update data with accurate information
· Attain and verify information by phone, using professional and considerate phone techniques
· Handling and processing of administrative accounts, bank accounts, customer inquiries, and other administrative client-oriented processes as requested.
3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Economics or Equivalent; Masters Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage
· Experience working in a Financial/Banking industry
· Proven sales, cross-selling, and up selling experience
· Knowledge on banking products and processes
· Effective communication skills
· Computer literate
· Integrity
· Team Player
· Relationship management skills
