CUSTODY OFFICER -1 POSITION (HEAD OFFICE) Azania Bank Ltd is among the promising local Banks that has been able to harness its growth potential by enhancing its client base through enhanced customer outreach and innovative products and services. 2. CUSTODY OFFICER -1 POSITION (HEAD OFFICE)
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Perform the day-to-day "Corporate Actions" related tasks in respect to:
i) Process mandatory, voluntary "Corporate Actions" events and Proxy Voting including the timely dissemination of information to clients and disbursement of income proceeds,
ii) Review and discuss with team members on "Corporate Actions" events where processes are different from the normal events,
iii) Provide suggestion/solution on client's issues, system problems, resources issues, etc,
iv) Inward and outward claims,
v) Application of new shares issues,
vi) Response to client's inquiries in a timely manner and by providing accurate information,
• Provide efficient customer account administration to achieve the following objectives:
i) Optimized utilization of resources
ii) Adherence to established controls and procedures
iii) Superior quality customer's service
v) Timely service
vi) Cost effectiveness
vii) Maximum profit
• Review accuracy of assets valuation and valuation reporting on daily basis
• Collect "Corporate Actions" data for domestic and international capital market, and apply them appropriately for records and entitlement generation.
• Undertake daily reconciliation of client's records in the Azania Bank Ltd Custody IT System and records in the Stock Exchange Central Depository Accounts.
• Update market Statistics in the Custody System for continuous and regular valuation and correct information delivery to clients
• Carry out Settlements and General Banking activities in line with laid down procedures and all regulatory requirements and Fund Manager Directives.
• Achieve established targeted standards of productivity and client services in Settlement area of:
i) Processing of equity settlement and ensuring there is sufficient funds and shares,
ii) Reviewing potential failed/failed trade until resolutions
• Receive client instructions (fax, swift and normal mail) and carry out call back and distribute the same to the respective team members.
• Calculate billing as at end of every month.
• Pass all accounting entries for all fees received.
• Ensure compliance at all times to the provision of Trust Deed
• Maintain good relationship with customers, regulators and other stake holders.
• Carry out period vault reconciliations with Local reconciliation team
• Review Nostro & receivables account for outstanding fees,
• Carry out settlement of offshore investments, receive contract notes and send/receive funds to/from Agents for settlement and capture transactions in the system.
• identify Custodial business opportunities and recommend actions to be taken


Qualification, Work experience and Competences
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics from a recognized University; Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA , CFA or MBA/Finance will be an added advantage to the applicant; Must have work experience of a minimum of 2 years in a commercial bank, with at least one year in Custodial operation; work experience in Share Registration and other assignments related to DSE shares issuance, registration, dividend payments, CDS transactions; deep knowledge of custodial operations both front and back office.
• Self-initiative and decisive, Attentive to detail, High standard of integrity, Ability to formulate and execute business strategies, Good communication and interpersonal skills.
