Who we are:
Oxfam is an International NGO working with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering in Tanzania and more than 80 other countries worldwide. In Tanzania Oxfam is working in Shinyanga, Simiyu, Geita, Mwanza, Dodoma, Morogoro, Tanga, Manyara and Arusha to implement three change goals that have been identified in the country strategy for 2010/2015, namely Economic Justice - Rural Livelihoods (including smallholder, pastoralist and women's livelihoods), Gender Justice – equality for women and Social Justice centred in active citizenship and effective governance for quality essential services. Gender justice change goal aims at ending violence against women and to promote women's leadership and economic empowerment.

We are currently looking for a dynamic, qualified and experienced Country Logistics Manager to enhance the impact of our program work in Tanzania.


Roles and Responsibilities:
In this role you will report to the Business Support Manager and you will be responsible for the following:

• Provide leadership and management on all procurement activities for both Dar es Salaam and field office including procurement planning and processing.
• Undertaking all logistical support to both our affiliates, programs and support Oxfam partners when required.
• Establish and implement proper fleet management procedures and guidelines to ensure efficient and optimum utilization of resources.
• Managing and developing logistics and supplies plan aiming at enhancing supplies lead time and value for money.
• Prepare, Analyse, appraise and implement programme budget related to the logistics and procurement function and.
• Ensure staff understand logistic procedures and best practices and be able to maintain close link with suppliers and service providers and understanding of legal and regulatory environment affecting Oxfam work to ensure timely and compliance to laws and regulations.
• Manage Logistics Information system (Helios) and ensure all staff are inducted properly and are conversant with the system.

Skills and competencies:
A candidate envisaged for this role will have:
• Qualifications and/or extensive experience in logistics related skills as listed above (managing supplies, team support, vehicle management and communications).
• Well developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations
• Relevant experience of organising and providing training preferably in financial management.
• Experience of management/supervisory responsibilities, including support to development of others.
• Previous experience with non-governmental organisations would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
• A proven record of effective management of people and resources, including planning and organisational skills.
• Capacity building, coaching and mentoring experience.
• Good written and spoken English is essential.
