Position: CONTRACTS AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Reporting to: CHIEF LEGAL COUNSEL
Duration: THREE (3) YEARS
ROLE:
• Provides accurate and comprehensive legal advice, legal representation and legal services to the Company;
• Implements, assists, and supports the work functions of the department in meeting company targets, securing and preserving company interests;
• Perform duties assigned by the Department head.
QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B)
• Knowledgeable and experienced Corporate Legal practice in tanzania (legal aspects of: Banking, Company, Finance, Insurance, international contracts, tax and international taxation)
• Background with an international or regional financial institution or auditing firm [for added advantage]
• Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania [for added advantage]
• Knowledgeable and experienced in corporate litigation in the High Court Commercial Division, Tax Tribunals, Fair Competition Commission [for added advantage]
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• A high level of concentration and organisation
• Ability to multi task, prioritise and manage competing demands;
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Computer literate and experienced in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
• Excellent communication skills in Kiswahili and English (written and verbal)
• Friendly, professional, enthusiastic and keen to understand about company operations and funtions
• Pays attention to details and keen eye for quality management of work
• Responsible and accountable for own actions
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Prepares, reviews, and finalises contracts for and on behalf of the company
• Prepares and processes compliance documentation accurately in a timely manner
• Performs due diligence on regulatory compliance for the company
• Providing timely advice and performs specific requests for review, merging or update on contracts
• Assist the department head in contract management and regulatory compliance issues
• Develop and Maintain register and database of company contracts
• Develop and Maintain register and database of company licenses
• Observant of professional etiquette, ethics and conduct
• Performs other duties as and when assigned by department head
