World Vision Tanzania is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the following position:

Job Title: Loan and Credit Officer (1 Position)
Reports to:  DM&E Officer       
Location; Arusha  
Purpose of the position:
To enhance effectiveness of Mwanzo Project by providing technical support to all the mobilization, baseline, formation, training, monitoring and evaluation and/or strengthening of local institutions (Saving Groups, Commercial Producer Groups, Commercial Villages) for more impactful and sustainable transformational development.

 Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to Mwanzo project on the effective operation of farmers groups such as CPG and CVs, Savings Groups and IGAs to ensure their viability and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate documentation and management of information and data related to economic development groups [farmers groups such as CPG and CVs, Savings Groups and IGAs] for effective support and learning purposes.
  • Facilitate the training of Saving Groups members, with specific focus on in the implementation of saving groups methodology
  • Responsible for mobilization meetings at village and sub-village levels for the potential saving groups participants
  • Provide leadership, monitoring and supervision and updates of Field Officers (FOs) schedules
  • Participate in regular planning and reflection meetings with field officers and Mwanzo project staff
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/bi-annual/annual progress reports
  • Do other duties as required

Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
  • Minimum Qualification required: Advanced Diploma in Agriculture, Business administration, Development studies/planning, social science disciplines or other related disciplines.
  • Experience: 3 years in management of Development Programs
  • Preferred:  BA/Bsc Degree in Economics, Agriculture, Business administration, Development studies/planning social science disciplines or other related disciplines.
  • Technical Skills & Abilities:
    • Computer knowledge
    • Knowledge on Cooperative Societies and entrepreneurship skills
    • Skills in report writing and project designs
    • Knowledge and ability to transfer new innovations
    • Networking skills
Working Environment / Conditions:
  • Work environment:  Office-based with frequent travel to the field
  • Travel:  10% Domestic is required.
  • On call: 10%
