Reporting to the Director of Policy, Advocacy and Campaigns you will be at the sharp end of delivering advocacy for our UK strategy and campaigning vision. This will involve taking responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the Advocacy Team, including overseeing planning, budgeting and monitoring and evaluation.
You will create and implement political and corporate engagement strategies to service our campaigning and advocacy priorities, provide strategic oversight of our policy and political advocacy work as well as ensure our public positions on issues are coherent.
You will also act as our senior level lobbyist and a media and public spokesperson. We will look to you to develop relationships with decision-makers and their influencers and enhance our profile with key UK political audiences.
You will possess strong political judgement and a proven track record of successful high level policy influencing and lobbing work. This will be supported by detailed knowledge of decision-making processes and influencing opportunities in UK government and connected international bodies.
You will also possess extensive expertise in networking and contact building in Whitehall, Westminster and political think-tanks, as well as in-depth knowledge of policy and advocacy work on women's rights issues.
You are capable of innovating and shaping debates, have a proven ability to influence and persuade at the highest levels and possess excellent all round communication skills. 
Adept at building high performing teams and working collaboratively with a range of colleagues across the ActionAid federation, you thrive on leading and motivating others to deliver challenging and ambitious targets.
