FRESHWATER PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

Freshwater Programme Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Freshwater Programme Coordinator will drive forward WW - Tanzania's work to address the most unsustainable processes and impacts affecting freshwater in Tanzania and support public and private sectors policies that promotes better water management across Tanzania in conjunction with other WWF offices across Eastern Africa. The Coordinator will ensure WWF-Tanzania plays a key role in the global WWF network's wide portfolio of work on water, rivers and wetlands.

Main Duties and responsibilities:
Providing intellectual leadership and ensuring strategic approach to work on testing, demonstrating and informing water resources management policy and practice; developing and implementing an effective monitoring and evaluation plan for the programme with a strong focus on measuring and delivering conservation impacts; developing and leading the delivery of a coordinated advocacy strategy on public and private policy linked to water basin projects; Actively engaging with government offices, research institutes, and private sector business in driving forward the WWF's water security and stewardship agenda in Tanzania; Supervising Freshwater Programme Officers and Executants; Providing information and expertise needed to support fundraising WWF's communication and fundraising efforts; and providing pro-active and constructive support to related global programmatic work including WWF;s Water Security and Water Stewardship programmes and working on climatic adaptation.

Required Qualifications:
Holder of a postgraduate degree in hydrology, water resources management, or environmental studies; Minimum 'of 5 years of working experience in conservation work related to water resources management issues; Having strong policy analysis and strategic thinking skills; Fluent in English and Kiswahili languages.
