LEGAL OFFICER - EXCELLEX ATTORNEYS – ARUSHA, TANZANIA.
Job Description, Duties and Responsibilities:
• Establishing and organizing case files, monitoring calendars, meeting deadlines, documenting actions, inputting information into file database and case management software, confirming case status with the Advocates.
• Helping develop cases/cases theory by maintaining contact with people involved in the case, scheduling depositions, preparing and forwarding summonses, drafting plaints, preparing and filing discovery requests, preparing responses to opposing counsel and generating status reports.
• Maintaining contact and communication with the clients so as to keep them informed with the case progress.
• Maintaining case costs by verifying outstanding balances with the advocates, clients, and suppliers of all the materials used.
• Supporting case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation conferences, preparing pleadings, monitoring and obtaining discovery responses and organizing materials for team case review.
• Enhancing trial proceedings by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed and taking courtroom notes.
• Updating my job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
• Accomplishing the law firm's goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Ensuring client satisfaction.
• Attending and representing clients at Commission for Mediation and Arbitration both in mediation and Arbitration.
QUALIFICATION.
• Tanzanian Citizen.
• Min diploma in law or Degree in Law.
• Min 1 years work experience.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and kiswahili.
• Experience in corporate related law will be an advantage.
