Logistics Manager- Capacity Building
International Medical Corps is seeking a Logistics Manager who will work with assigned sub-grantees on logistics, procurement and training and capacity building of sub-grantee staff.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop work plan based that establishes clear milestones and accountability measures to be jointly reviewed by sub-grantee and IMC staff in Jordan (work plan to be developed within first two weeks of trip).
• Work closely with sub-grantee and IMC Logistics team on a daily basis, including both office and field work.
• Identify training needs of sub-grantees and develop a training plan to meet those needs.
• Ensure adequate quality and effectiveness of internal systems and procedures in place.
• Identify possible gaps, weaknesses and areas that need improvement.
• Provide the delivery of, and implementation of, all logistics support systems according to IMC Logistics policies and procedures.
• Work with the programs and finance team to provide planning for all future projects, planning of procurements in accordance with IMC policies and procedures, in a transparent, accountable, efficient and cost effective manner.
• Ensure sub-grantee staff are properly managing, tracking, and recording all procurements.
• Organize local market surveys, to gain knowledge of the availability and price of local items.
• Engage with freight forwarding agencies, freight handling/clearance agents, and local Customs, to ensure that cargo is managed at all points of the supply chain.
• Track all medical supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, food and any other goods from the moment of acquisition through its receipt, storage and onward transport and distribution.
• Assist with capturing pipeline information to help ensure that Program staff are kept well-informed of incoming goods and material.
• Ensure timely reporting on stock status, to help Program staff with planning of stock replenishment and, support Program staff to verify that distribution has occurred according to the intentions and plans of your supervisor, donors, IMC, and project partners.
• Ensure Export Compliance monitoring obligations.
• Monitor comprehensive asset list with all donor and export compliance mandatory elements.
• Maintain an accurate filing system, with documented and supported records of actions for audit purposes
REQUIREMENTS:
:• Evidence of practical experience in logistics within the field of supply chain management (basic procurement, clearance of cargo, transport, warehousing, asset management, etc.)
• Degree in an academic study in the field of Humanitarian Logistics or other relevant studies.
• Show some experience of the provision of support to supervisors for the management of budgets and the ability to provide input to timely, complete and accurate reporting.
• It is desirable to show some training skills to build national staff capacity, in the areas of supply chain management.
• Show evidence of your ability to work in a participatory manner with staff to assess needs, implement and monitor activities to include problem-solving skills, with an analytical approach
• Ability to integrate and work well within multi-ethnic and multicultural teams
• Ability to work in harsh conditions, often in remote areas.
• Negotiation, interpersonal and organization skills
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (minimum requirement).
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic required
