Community Advocacy & Accountability Technical Advisor – NU-HITES Project - Plan International , Uganda

Plan International Inc. in Uganda was awarded a 5-year Cooperative Agreement under the Northern Uganda- Health Integration to Enhance Services (NU-HITES) project to continue providing technical assistance and capacity building support for Northern Uganda in Malaria, AIDS and Tuberculosis, integrate additional support in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), Family Planning (FP) and nutrition; while prioritizing the strengthening of district-level health facilities. Under the NU-HITES project, Plan Uganda would like to recruit competent candidates for the following positions:
Community Advocacy & Accountability Technical Advisor – NU-HITES Project (1 Positions) Department& Location: Programs/ Gulu Regional Office
Reports to: Director Health Systems Strengthening
Purpose:
This position reports to the Director Health systems Strengthening and the successful candidate will be a member of the Region office technical team. He/she will be responsible for coordinating the activities of selected CSOs who will mobilize communities and spearhead the planning, implementation and monitoring of Community advocacy initiatives of the NU-HITES project at facility and community level in the project districts.
Dimensions of Role:
  • Member of the Regional Technical Team of the NU-HITES project reporting to the Director Health systems strengthening.
  • Supports selected CSOs in designing, implementation and monitoring the social accountability mechanisms/ processes at all levels of local governments and ensuring communities are actively participating in holding their leaders . accountable.
  • Train CSO partners in PLA methods and in the use of community score card in a bid to assess performance of health services provided by government, in terms of their quality, efficiency and transparency.
  • Advise and support the Sub-regional coordinators and CSO partners to ensure effective implementation of social accountability interventions of the project in compliance with USAID rules and regulations, Plan policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
