Southern Highlands Participatory Organization (SHIPO) is a Tanzanian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Njombe town in Njombe Region.
SHIPO is helping organized groups and communities to help themselves in their efforts to raise their living standards and alleviate poverty. SHIPO supports communities in hardware (structures) and software (education, mobilization, sensitization, consultancy, training, supervision and progress monitoring and evaluation to communities to ensure the sustainability of implemented projects.
SHIPO is seeking for a dynamic, motivated and team – oriented professional to work as a Cashier with store keeping experience.
Tasks:
• Receive payment by cash, issue receipts to customers up to the amount stipulated in the Financial manual
• Timely updating data in the system both cash data and store data.
• Performance Daily, weekly and monthly Cash counting
• Pay organization bills by cash up to the amount specified in the Financial manual
• Daily updating the petty cashbook
• Responsible for keeping SHIPO store of materials at SHIPO offices and at project sites
• Training project committees in store management at the site
• Stocktaking/monitoring of data entry at the site
• Support in financial activities as per assignment given by the close supervisor/department head
Skills and Competences
• Minimum of Diploma in Accountancy or related profession.
• Skills in handling and counting cash
• At least 3 years of experience in Accountancy and or related field
• Knowledge and experience in store keeping
• Effective in verbal, written and listening skills of English
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Tools
• Knowledge in accounting software is an added advantage.
• Competent person who will require minimum supervision
