Plan has been working in Tanzania since 1991, supporting children and communities to gain better access to health, education, water, sanitation and hygiene, livelihoods and protection through five Country Programs. Plan works with children, their families and communities to implement programmes at grassroots level. It currently operates in seven regions across the country, having physical offices in Mwanza, Geita, Ifakara, Kibaha, Kisarawe and Dar es Salaam, reaching other areas through partnerships and grants such as Sumbawanga, Nkasi, Bahi, Chamwino and Kongwa districts.

Business Development Specialist (1 POSITION) DSM

Job Purposes: The purpose of this position is to support the business develop¬ment department increase and manage grant-funding from varied sources (institutional, corporate, etc) to deliver programs in the Country Strategic Plan.
Job Requirements
• Diversified grants income as per targets agreed in the Country Strategic Plan
• Close working relationship with Program Units and program department
• Effective management of relationships with donors and NOs.
• Effective management of grants, including grant systems and quality and

Quality assurance of all donor reports
Management and coordination of concept paper and proposal development processes
Coordinating donor visits.
Skills Specific to the Post
• Excellent level of English both oral and written
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching, training and facilitation skills
• Planning skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Excellent Business development and grant management skills, including ability to identify challenges and provide or work with teams to propose possible solutions
• Networking and relationship development skills
• Strong team building and motivational skills
• Proficient in computer skills

Educational Qualification and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in social sciences, or other related discipline.
• 5 years relevant experience in an NGO or donor organisation
• Demonstrated track record of supporting business development initiatives such as business intelligence gathering and writing project proposals Demon¬strated track record of managing the implementation of programs
• A commitment to, and understanding of, participatory approaches to develop¬ment
