Technical Sales Representative

We are looking for a Technical Sales Representative located in the Ontario area.
The Role
The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for providing quality technical support and for developing the technical competencies of the customer and internal personnel. The role will work closely with local distributors, customers and the area sales team to achieve business targets by building solid relationship and creating customer loyalty. This position covers the Niagara Peninsula and Oakville region.
Key Performance Areas
This is customer-focused role that partners with all stakeholders to ensure a positive customer experience by providing solutions that exceed our customers' expectations. The Technical Sales Representative will contribute to the sales budget, market share growth and cost savings budget. Establish and maintain a strong relationship with our customers and our Channel Partners. Perform testing, evaluation, and trouble-shooting of metal cutting tools. Deliver our value message to customers through documented cost savings. Prospecting of new and existing customers to identify opportunities for sales growth, identify and report market conditions.
Your Profile
- Strong knowledge of the machining, programming, and/or engineering of precision machined components is required
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in this industry is preferred
- Post-secondary education in related field an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong listening skills
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent presentation skills; including the ability to train others
- Must be results oriented, highly organized, motivated, take-charge individual who is a team player and able to work independently
- Customer focused
- Knowledge of industry and ability to travel
