General functions
The International Organization for Migration has been entrusted by the European Commission to implement the programme, "Action Supporting ACP-EU Cooperation on Migration and Development" to uphold cooperation between the EU and African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries on migration issues. The Action is implemented by a team based in Brussels and in five IOM Regional Offices (ROs).
Under the supervision of the Head of the Regional Implementation Unit (RIU) and in closecoordination with the Brussels- based Programme/Action Officers for Sub-Saharan Africa and for the Caribbean Pacific, the incumbent will support the implementation of activities of the programme.
In particular, s/he will have the following responsibilities:
1. Assist the Brussels-based Programme/Action Officers in the setting up and maintenance of the database of migration experts, their identification and contracting of consultancy services, ;
2. Assist the Brussels-based Programme/Action Officers in the process of responding to the requests of ACP governments for technical assistance by acknowledging receipt, helping their assessment and ranking, and carrying out related tasks;
3. Assist the organization of events and meetings of the staff involved in the Action and to provide logistic support for travels of the Head of Unit and the Brussels-based Programme/Action Officers with the support of RO Brussels accounting and finance staff;
4. Provide support for the maintenance of the South-South Migration Network by helping the exchange of information within the network and the publication of periodic newsletters, updating of web pages and the social media profiles of the network;
5. Act as assistant to the Head of the RIU on matters related to the ACP-EU Action (agenda, meeting requests, preparation of documentation, filing, travel support, etc.);
6. As needed, assist the RIU with diverse tasks related to the ACP-EU Action including typing documents and reports of missions and meetings, filing documents and copying/editing and proofreading documents or publications;

Technical
a) Effectively applies knowledge of migration issues within organizational context;
Education and Experience:
a) Secondary school diploma. Bachelor Degree in Political or Social Sciences or
related field a distinct advantage; b) Minimum four years of working experience in an international environment; c) Experience in independently carrying out tasks to support the implementation of projects ; d) Knowledge of migration issues and experience working with the EU institutions a distinct advantage e) Ability to draft clearly and concisely in English and French. ; f) Good level of computer literacy.

Languages
Fluency in oral and written English and French required. Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese is an advantage.
