SENIOR ENGINEER GRID OPERATIONS

The Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) is focusing on increasing the outreach and service quality of its Energy products for Tanzania people. Next to its current passion as a leading provider of electricity is to be more efficient customer focused utility for Tanzania and beyond. The Company has the largest electricity generation, transmission and distribution network in Tanzania. In order to reach its goals, the Company will, in the coming years invest heavily in its generation, transmission and distribution network, its business systems and human capital.

SENIOR ENGINEER GRID OPERATIONS 

REPORTING TO: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER GRID OPERATIONS

POSITION OBJECTIVE

To supervise the operation of the grid power system to ensure that the interconnected grid network is run securely according to company regulations

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• In charge of the Control room, supervising Operations Control Engineers
• To coordinate all power system operations management activities.
• To ensure correctness of switching procedures such that the activities in the interconnected power system adhere to safety procedures as per OHS Policy.
• To prepare operations reports: Daily System Operation Report (DOR), weekly/Monthly reports, Transfer Unit, Quarterly, Annual and other statistical reports reflect professional and standards and are submitted in time.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Holder of BSc. In Electrical Engineering/ Electrical Power Engineering or Equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.

• Must be registered as Professional Engineer by Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Tanzania
• 1-2 years' experience in relevant field

REMUNERATION

An attractive compensation package based on performance and commensurate with the responsibility will apply to successful candidates. All positions' terms of employment are performance based fixed contracts.
