ICS Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

£27,876 gross pa (pro rata), plus other benefits
Fixed-term three months' contract, part-time (three days per week)
Based in Brixton, London

This is a great opportunity for a candidate skilled in monitoring and evaluation seeking to use their expertise in the context of international volunteering programmes. The post holder will work closely with the International Citizen Service (ICS) Project Officers (Africa and Central America) and our in-country staff, strengthening the way our five ICS programmes are monitored and evaluated. S/he will identify best practice and trends and develop case studies.

The post holder will also play a crucial role in helping the ICS team to improve the way we monitor and evaluate the impact of ICS programmes, and build a culture of learning, including reflecting on our successes and lessons learnt.

The successful candidate should have a degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems and methodologies, preferably in the voluntary/NGO sector; developing case studies for different audiences; training staff on monitoring and evaluation systems and methodologies, and of working in a supportive and enabling role, building working relationships with a culturally diverse workforce is essential.

You should have knowledge of participatory monitoring and evaluation systems and best practice; good office/administration skills, especially around the development of systems for information management, and excellent organisation, prioritising and planning skills, including the ability to multitask, meet deadlines and use own initiative to deliver expected outcomes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate/work with a wide range of people in a collaborative manner, and enhance effective work relationships; discretion and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately, and a genuine interest and understanding of international development issues, particularly of the role young adults can play in community development projects is also essential.
