On behalf of our client, we are currently looking for candidate to fill, this position,
POSITION: PROGRAMME OFFICER (EDUCATION) & ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTRE TUTOR
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING;
- Undertake planning and budgeting of all education activities in the department;
- Coordinate all education and education related activities in the department;
- Liaise with the district and other relevant education authorities in respect of proper management and delivery of education programme outputs;
- Undertake training at the EEC as well as relief the EEC Principal when away,
- Develop and execute a systematic monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning (MER&L) plan for both the EEC post-training activities and scholarship programme.
- Overall community sustainable capacity building.
- Ensures that Education portfolio is in line with company-wide community development policies;
- Ensure that the Education portfolio is relevant to the development of the partner districts education needs;
- Follow-up and report on the effective and sustainable implementation of all activities under education programme;
- Being a focal and resource person within the department on education and related matters;
- Link with other programme officers to ensure linkages and synergies of different projects being supported by COP,
- Other relevant activities as requested by the supervisor.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of a diploma in education with a teaching background in secondary schools of not less than five years in either teaching or community development work.
- Qualification as a secondary school teacher in Tanzania with Biology, Chemistry and or Geography or at least either of the three but Biology is compulsory as teaching subjects.
- Relevant work experience in development work (rural development/community development/development project management).
- Project management skills that is project planning, execution monitoring and evaluation as well as analytical skills.
- Development programme management skills and good interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in both English and Kiswahili and ability and willingness to work with rural communities in their own rural environment.
- Computer literate specifically in the use of Ms Office packages like word, excel, power point and others.
- Proven good communication skills, i.e. oral communication, report writing and presentation skills.
- Experience and or willingness to live and work in remote rural areas.
- A valid vehicle driving license is an added advantage.
