International Project Manager
RI Biodiversity Animal Health and Comparative Medicine Administration
The post-holder will work within University's policies and procedures to project manage the international research portfolio of the Institute of Biodiversity, Animal Health and Comparative Medicine valued at £10 million and spanning 6 projects in South America and sub-Saharan Africa which are focused on the epidemiology and control of endemic zoonotic diseases. Responsibilities will include liaising with international research partners, coordination of outreach activities, and assisting the preparation documents for foreign permitting agencies and local stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be integrated into an enthusiastic and interactive research community comprised of the Institute of Biodiversity Animal Health and Comparative Medicine (http://www.gla.ac.uk/researchinstitutes/bahcm/), the Boyd Orr Centre for Population and Ecosystem Health (http://www.gla.ac.uk/researchinstitutes/bahcm/researchfacilitiesgroups/boydorr/) and the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (http://www.gla.ac.uk/researchinstitutes/iii/cvr/). These groups share a common interest in applied epidemiology and emergence, with a particular expertise in using large field and genomic datasets to address zoonotic and livestock disease threats in the developing world. He/she will work most closely with research groups led by Dr Daniel Streicker and Dr Sarah Cleaveland on projects based in Peru and Tanzania, respectively.
This post has funding until 31 March 2016, with prospects for extension.
