Industrial Electrician
Sandvik Material Technology, is a world leading producer of high technology stainless steel, special alloy materials has an excellent career opportunity for an Industrial Electrician located in Arnprior just 30 minutes West of the Ottawa area.
Key Performance Areas
- Maintain electrical equipment and associated electronic controls through adherence to existing Preventative Maintenance program
- Troubleshoot/repair electrical equipment and control systems in a cost effective and optimal manner
- Aid in design, develop, test, manufacture and install electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls as they relate to internal project work or the support of third parties
- Give advice and recommendations on installation, operation, and maintenance of complex equipment
- Participate in the development of written specifications and technical manuals
- Read and understand electrical schematics
- Collaborate with Engineering and other departments to recommend changes in design, manufacturing procedures and test equipment to improve manufacturability or reliability
- Understand and adhere to all current and relevant Industry codes and guidelines
- Document modifications to all electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls for internal records keeping and departmental communication
- When required recommend, organize and requisition components for breakdown repair, Preventative Maintenance and internal project work
Your Profile
- 7 -10 years experience with electrical equipment and control support
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills on industrial machines; using relay logic, Servo's, Allen Bradley PLC's and drives
- Proficiency in RS Logix 500, and 5000 as well Panel View Plus
- Ability to read and understand schematics
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC's, including PLC 5 to control logix, Control Techniques drives and easy motion, Ormec and Allen Bradley servo drives is preferred
- Understanding and design of Safety Systems and categories would be an asset
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical is preferred
- Experience with Induction Annealing is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data bases and email programs
- Ability to follow written and/or verbal instruction
- Attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records
