LAPF Pensions Fund Jobs , June 2014

The LAPF Pensions Fund is a social security institution affiliated to the prime Minister’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PMORLG). LAPF ha it’s headquarter in Dodoma with zone and liaison offices in Dar es salaam, Arusha, Iringa, Mwanza, Mtwara, Rukwa and Kigoma.

LAPF activities have been steadily increasing in the recent past and in response to that, the Fund is seeking to recruit dynamic, committed, qualified individuals who are highly motivated, entrepreneurial minded and result drive professionals with proven track record.

The available positions together with their specific requirements are as follows:
 

GENERAL CONDITIONS.
  •   All applicants must be citizens of Tanzania and are not above 45 years old, however, should also observe the age limit of each position where indicated.
  •  Applicants must attach an up – to date current Curriculum Vitae (CV) having reliable contract, postal address, E-mail and telephone numbers.
  •  From IV and From VI results slips are strictly not accepted.
  • Testimonials, partial transcripts and results slips will not be accepted.
  •  Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV will necessitate to legal action.
  •  Certificate from foreign examination bodies for ordinary or advanced level education should be certified by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
  •  Certificate from foreign Universities should be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).


1. CORPORATE MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION (1 POST)


Job purpose
Reports to Director General, Corporate Marketing and Communication Manager will be responsible for Initiating and developing, the Funds long and short – term marketing plans, strategies, policies, procedures and programmes and ensure through promotion advertisement that the Fund image tops in the social security sector.

Qualifications Skills and Experience.

  •  Holders of Master’s Degree in Marketing, Mass Communications or equivalent qualification.
  •  At least seven years relevant experience, four of which should be at a senior position in a reputable institution.
  • Should have a strong command of both written and spoken Kiswahili and English language.
  • Must have ICT skills and media relations expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Corporate marketing and communication manager shall:

  •   Ensure always that all promotional, advertising and industry affairs of LAPF are properly conducted and managed.
  •  Act as a good liaison to outside advertising agencies for on – going campaigns and work with freelance writers and artists when needed in accordance with the governing regulations and rules.
  • Prepare, implement, and review marketing plans and advices on the right course of action.
  • Analyze market strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and recommend marketing interventions in accordance with the governing regulations and rules.
  • Develop timely and get approval of the effective advertising, promotional and publicity programmes of LAPF and design new marketing and business promotion technique supervise all advertising campaigns including print, radio/television and direct mails.
  • Advertise, promote, and sell new benefit product and service offerings to current and potential members and evaluate the effectiveness of advertising.
  • Prepare annual research and marketing plan, strategy and budget.



2. PRINCIPAL PLANNING AND INVESTMENTS OFFICER (1 POST)
 

Job purpose
Reports to planning and investment manager, principal planning and investment officer will be responsible for preparing project analyses, project appraisal reports, detailed project feasibility studies and capital budget.


Qualifications skills and Experience.
The ideal candidate for this position should:

  •   Holder of a bachelor degree in planning, Economics, finance or equivalent qualification.
  •   Holder of a master’s degree in planning economics, Finance, Investments or equivalent qualification.
  •   At least five years relevant experience, four of which should be at a senior position in a reputable institution.
  • Should have a strong background of strategic planning, investments analysis or project analysis and appraisal.
  • Must be computer literate with advanced knowledge of planning, finance and or and investments software.
  • Any other related discipline /profession certificate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Principal planning and investment officer shall:

  • Prepares guidelines and assists in coordination, preparation, implementation, monitoring corporate plans and other short plans.
  • Identifies and recommends new areas for investments and prepares investments proposals for decision making.
  • Prepare inputs for the annual investments plan, policies and strategy.
  • Analyses projects and prepare projects appraisal reports, details project feasibility studies and capital budget.
  • Supervises project implementation and checks physically and periodically investments properties of the Fund.
  • Prepare periodical reports on investments and planning activities.
  • Recommends amendments to investigate and estates management policies.
  • Appraises performance against targets and advice on corrective measures.
  • Identifies investments on risks and recommends measures to be taken.
  • Monitors and evaluates the Fund’s investment portfolio and advises on optimum portfolio of the Fund.
  • Updates the data base for planning and investments operations and bring to the attention of supervisory any matters of concern.
