English Heritage is the Government`s advisor on all matters related to the historic environment. It is our job to secure the sustainable future of the historic environment and ensure that the unique role that heritage plays in the lives of individuals and communities is recognised.
Undertaking a key role within the Government Advice Team, you will take the lead on all economic issues in English Heritage. The role includes working with partners to develop and implement innovative ways to measure the value of the historic environment, providing economic advice on the implications of Government policies and programme appraisals. You will work directly with decision-makers to ensure that your evidence makes a difference to practice and policies.
As the only economist in the organisation, we are looking for a self-starter, happy to take the initiative on developing a work programme that improves the evidence base for heritage. You should be comfortable in working with senior management.
