Plan International Inc. in Uganda was awarded a 5-year Cooperative Agreement under the Northern Uganda- Health Integration to Enhance Services (NU-HITES) project to continue providing technical assistance and capacity building support for Northern Uganda in Malaria, AIDS and Tuberculosis, integrate additional support in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), Family Planning (FP) and nutrition; while prioritizing the strengthening of district-level health facilities. Under the NU-HITES project, Plan Uganda would like to recruit competent candidates for the following positions:

Technical Advisor TB&HIV Prevention, care and treatment – NU-HITES Project (1 position) Department & Location: Programs Reports to: Director of Health Service Delivery
Purpose:
This position reports to the Director of Health Service Delivery and the successful candidate will be a member of the health service delivery team. He/she will serve as the project's expert on TB and HIV prevention, care and treatment programs in fifteen project supported districts in Northern Uganda. The TB/HIV Technical Advisor will serve to provide technical and strategic support towards achievement of project outcomes related to availability of and accessibility to quality TB and HIV health services, quality of health care, enabling environments for health care delivery, and health-seeking behavior and practices.
It is a full-time position based in Gulu for a five-year term, with frequent travel to districts through the Northern Region of Uganda.
Dimensions of Role:
  • Member of the Health Service Delivery Team of the NU-HITES project reporting to the Health Service Delivery Director.
  • Supports the Health Service Delivery Director in designing, implementation and monitoring of facility and community-level TB and HIV prevention, care and treatment activities to achieve project targets under the five key areas of focus related to health service delivery i.e. increased availability of health services, increased accessibility to services, improved quality of services, creating enabling environments for health care delivery, and improving health-seeking behavior and practices.
  • Supports the Health Service Delivery Director to ensure effective delivery of the project in compliance with USAID rules and regulations, Plan policies and procedures as well as the national and other relevant international policies and guidelines.
